Forward sits alone at the summit of Division 1 after a hard fought 3-1 victory over USRC on Friday night. A very competitive first half saw Forward edging into the lead just before the whistle through a Habib Spiller goal but it was the "shocking" red card handed out to USRC which was the main talking point of the first half as in the eyes of USRC Manager Matt Ferriday it "totally ruined the game". FWD notched a second goal at the 60 minute mark with a cool finish from Cyril Latrous before Roy Man pulled one back with 5 minutes to play. However the three points were made safe when in-form Damien Martinez scored his third in as many games.

Goodfellas brought the early season fireworks from Tropics to a halt at Po Tsui Park coming away with a 2-0 win the Fellas finding the onion bag in each half through Hsu Lau and Daniel Derani. Kicking off at 1pm the game was played in very hot conditions with the first Fellas goals being handed to them from a short headed back pass which Hsu Lan got to before the CoCo Bilbey. Tropics had the better of the second half with a lot of the play in Fellas half but they battled well to keep Tropics out and with 10 minutes to spare gave themselves breathing room with a decent team goal.

New boys San P's continue to search for their first points of the season going down to Spartans 3-1. Spartans got off to a great start with an early Benny Walters headed goal. A second followed courtesy of a Matt Cross belter as he weaved through 4 players half way through the first half to make it 2-0. Tim Foster capatalised on some sloppy play to bring San P's back into the game at 2-1 just before half time before Spartans made it 3-1 when goal machine Christian Balka scored another 25 yard screamer just before half time. The second half was a lot tighter with both teams creating chances but without finding the net.

DBFC took out a struggling Mes 4-0 with goals from Tom Halder, Dzadu Agbeko, Matt Hoare and David Moore with DB well on top in the first half with the second more even. It seems this year there has been a change in DB with little to work off on the reports, long gone are the 26 messages from Gary on a Sat evening chronicling his teams game!!

In pub football you are more likely to find Unicorn shite on the bottom of your boots than get a 0-0 but there must be some Unicorns in the hills of Hong Kong as we ended up with two 0-0 score lines on Saturday. J-Leaguers and Krauts played a competitive game but cancelled each other while Corinthians picked up their first point of the season against high flying Scottish thanks to a great save from the Cors keeper....In Division 2, Bants lost their 100% winning record after being held to a goal-less draw by Blue Samurai. “We dominated on possession but couldn’t get the breakthrough.” Said Bants manager Hao. However, Bants still managed to stay joint top with the young KCC Cavaliers, who ended up all square with Young Guns on their home pitch on Monday. Kit Tsui took the lead for Young Guns, but Limbu Amin made no mistake on the spot to help salvage a point for Cavaliers in a tough game filled with tactical fouls, questionable refereeing decisions as well as posts hitting by both sides.

It was a week with a lack of winners and elsewhere we saw a thrilling 3-3 draw between MBFC and Legal Head. Another tough game with both teams delivering their best and a brace of goals from Gurung Misal and a goal from Bijay Gurung combined to build up a 3-1 lead for LH, but the new boys in the league refused to surrender and managed to equalize with a goal each from Park Sung Hyng, Cao Yuxing and Zhang Long.

TWF and Team Shotguns played out another draw of the day. Shotguns had a terrible first half and soon found themselves 0-2 down, falling to a brace from Ming Lee. However, with some substitutions and change of formation, Shotguns got back into the game after the interval and riding on two mistakes from TWF’s keeper, Derek Huang and Sean Ko both put their name on the score sheet to level the game. They escalated their pressure in the final minutes to look for a winner but were held off by the TWF defence.

Last season golden boot winner Yongsen Li snatched the match winning goal for Soho to help them beat Shui Wei 1-0 which was enough to put them joint third in the table with Revolution, who started and ended well with a goal each from Chris Marshall and Kieran Robinson, but the big chunk in the middle was a horrible performance which handed them to a 2-4 loss to Shooters. Scorers from Shooters were Toshihiko Kanatani, Toshiyuki Nishii, Yasushi Kakizaki and Hiroshi Uehara.

Last but not least, KCC Royals thrashed BOCs 6-1 on Monday night. Royals dominated the first half but in second half BOCs managed to salvage some pride with the goal from Christopher Hau. Scorers of KCC goals were Paul McGunnigle for a double, Frankie Ferreira, Scott Allen, Ho Lau and Kan Jacques.
