Congratulations to DBFC, winning the championship after a narrow 1-0 victory over Bants when a draw was enough to bring the trophy home. Elsewhere in the first division, Tropicana beat HK Scottish to move 8 points away from the relegation zone with 4 games to go. It appears as if they have done enough to guarantee first division football for next season.
In the cup competition, USRC battled against Spartans with a dodgy referee and came out victorious with a 3-2 at TKO. It was a tight affair. USRC led at half time with a goal from a corner before Spartans turned the tie around halfway through the second half to lead 2-1. A great volley equalised the game, and as the game was heading to penalties, USRC scored a dubious goal to progress into the final.
In the other cup semi-final, saw Mes beat JLeaguers 2-1 as Mes dominated the game but JLeaguer's goalkeeper was determined to produce a Man of the Match performance to give his teammates a fighting chance, but it wasn't to be. Mes held on to win the game 2-1 to face USRC in the cup final which will take place on 27th April at 6pm, TKO HKFA pitch 5.
In the plate semi-finals, Goodfellas overcame a spirit KCC Royals side to win the game with a single goal, and HK Scottish thrashed MBFC 4-0 to make it an all first division team final. Goodfellas and HK Scottish will face each other before the cup final at 4.30pm.
In the rest of the league, San Pellegrinos beat OSM to reclaim the 2nd spot and move a point behind the current leader, Mes. Division 2 is heating up with two points separating three teams as the race for the championship and promotion continues this weekend. In Division 3, HK Vikings narrowly beat The Shooters 1-0 and Vikings will feel lucky to get 3 points after Shooters came inches from scoring on 5 occasions but were denied each time due to the goal frame.
