JL 3-4 Revolution

Revo 4 - JLeaguers 3. JLeaguers went two goals up early on, one a counter sttsvk with their rapid striker scoring. Nakamura then hit a wicked corner in which either went in directly or deflected off a player. We hit back with two Simon Liu goals before half time. In the second half we took the lead for the first time with Liam whipping in a freekick and Simon getting his hattrick from the ensuing scramble. Nakamura late on steps up and blasts a freekick into the top corner to make it 3-3 and pens looked in order. However we weren't finished, and Nick pressurised their keeper who cleared to Simon to coolly slot away for his and our 4th. Last kick of the game was a JLeaguers counter attack which saw their striker hit the side netting with an open goal begging. Cue much relief from the Revo and on to round 2 we go. Ref was OK 3/5 - almost lost control of the game as it got a bit feisty in the 2nd half.

Soho 2-1 Stray Dogs

Goals: Tyler Rattray, Marc Beaton

We took a 2 goal lead in the 1st half, the 1st from a corner & then the 2nd came from a long ball finished from a tight angle following a mistake from their defender. Stray Dogs got 1 back late in the 2nd half but we were able to see out the win.

Ref: 0/5, not the first time we’ve had an absolute shocker with this ref.

Bizarre decisions throughout, including giving out yellow cards then taking them away etc.

2 red cards for us, both after 2nd yellows, our 1st ones of the season. Ref and ourselves didn’t even know he was giving a 2nd yellow to our player as he allowed play to resume for a few mins before being informed by the Stray Dogs bench.

A lot of playacting/diving and then general shitty off the ball antics coming from both sides in the end stopped this being much of a game of football to be honest

KCC Cavaliers 8:1 HK Vikings

Goal scorers:

Jonathan Mok x 2, George Yang x 2. Alvin Shum x 2, Nikhil Narwani, Rai Aryan

Match report to be followed

HK Vikings  Goal: Oscar Hansen.

After a 90 percent ball possession, we were unlucky to lose.

Joke a side. We got hammered by a younger, faster and much better team.

Got a lucky penalty early and first half was ok, rest was very very one sided.

Tropics 2 San P’s 0

We started slowly on a cold, miserable evening at Sandy bay against a determined San P’s side who had been warming up a good 15 minutes longer than us. However, once we settled we we had the better of possession and went 1 - 0 when a through ball was lobbed over the on rushing keeper.

2nd half we scored a second from a cross that was powerfully headed in and their keeper made 2 or 3 good saves to keep the score down. San P’s had possession in our half but we weren’t to troubled and deserved the win. Good luck to San P’s for the rest of the season.

Ref: 3/5 - a few late challenges but not a dirty game to warrant 6 yellow cards

refs 2/5. A very competitive game despite the scoreline and could have forced a draw and get to pens if we were more clinical with the chances we created. Refs were poor, far too many questionable calls going both ways

Bants 1  v  LH 0 (0.0)

Played in the hot spot of Wu Shan Rd. where we had also been the previous week... unfortunately a case of same place, same time, same result as we went down to a very late winner...both teams seemed to  be missing some big players and the first half was fairly even, our best chance coming from a chase into the area by our stand-in striker who put in a rasping shot in from a tight angle that made their goalie have to readjust quickly to make a smart save...we were able to spuce up our attack at half time and had our chances  - a good through ball gave our guy the chance to push it past the keeper but the speed of the ball and angle meant he couldn't quite get his shot on target.. and a well struck free kick from just outside the box was well saved by their keeper but the ref had already blown for 'standing in the wall', first time we've ever seen this given...Bants were looking dangerous down our right and had a couple of chances before there was an astonishing miss in front of goal from a driven low cross from their left...

into the last 3 mins, was it going to be pens? sadly for us, no... some poor marking at 7a corner allowed their guy to get a free jump and head it powerfully into the net, and he wasn't even one of their taller players... gutted to lose a goal at that time, unsurpringly they pulled all  their men back to ride it out... no real flashpoints, played in decent spirit, thanks for the game

Goodfellas 0 KCC Royals 3

The Royals ended their 3-month winless run with a crushing 3-0 WALKOVER victory over high flying Goodfellas.

Under pressure Player Manager, Dave Christmas scored a hat trick to hopefully shut his critics up and put him in pole position to take over from Gareth Southgate in the new year….

Bullet header from outside the box was my favourite of my 3 goals….. but it was a team effort and great to get back to winning ways.

Shooters 0 - Barbarians 2

Fairly even game where both teams had some chances. Barbarians capitalized on free kick opportunity in first half, where they had multiple members aiming for second balls when our goalkeeper made the save. We weren’t able to convert many free kick opportunities. In second half, they scored penalty to close out the game.

Good game Barbarians!
